At Breakpoint, we are building bold strategies that are unlocking enduring value. To be competitive in a rapidly evolving economy, organizations are being driven to make better strategic decisions through a deeper understanding of what defines corporate performance. It demands deep conviction and a commitment to a new direction. Great strategy begins with great people. Over the last several years, we have worked with CEOs and senior teams to build creative responses that transformed their organizations.

Leadership. The CEO is responsible for leading what defines performance. They set the plan, engage the senior team, and define the behaviours for success.

Set the Plan. Often the goal can feel very abstract i.e. "we need to be more customer focussed" so it is critical to an organizations success that abstract ideas are translated into operational plans. Successful operational plans are clear about organization goals, roles, responsibilities, timelines, measures, and budgets.

Engage your People. Sustained success requires leaders to drive change by engaging people to think and act differently. This process requires organizations to answer "what is in it for me". Creating a culture where employees are allowed to have open conversations about their aspirations is the best way to build commitment.

Strategic success as a business leader can be elusive. The process of defining performance is critical. Improving strategic decision making requires leaders to define new choices, confront the risks and uncertainties that limits their impact, and select operating processes that are appropriate to their culture. In our experience, there is substantial value created when a leader understands the drivers of strategy and is able to deploy talent in support of enabling systematic improvement.
