We focus on Lithium battery, LiFePO4 battery, Solar battery, gel battery, UPS battery and so on.
Ordinary AGM lead-acid batteries and gel GEL batteries are two common lead-acid batteries. They have some differences in performance:
Electrolyte fixation method
Lead-acid battery: The electrolyte is adsorbed in the porous glass partition and must be unsaturated.
GEL Batteries: The electrolyte is held in solid form by a variety of additives and fills all spaces within the battery. The gel has a continuous three-dimensional network structure, and the colloid is formed in two stages: 1) Reversible stage: polymerization, and the formation stage of weak hydrogen bonds (flowable liquid). Electrolyte fixation method The electrolyte is adsorbed in the porous glass partition, and Must be unsaturated. 2) Irreversible stage: Siloxane bond bridges (-Si-o-Si-) are formed between silica (Si02) particles to obtain strong molecular force characteristics: every time the temperature increases by 10 degrees, the colloid formed The speed will be doubled. Nanoscale fumed silica serves as the carrier of the electrolyte, allowing the electrolyte and fumed silica to enter into the micron-sized plate surface active materials and combine into a network-like bond structure. This bond structure is very stable, thereby reducing the plate surface activity. Material falling off under charge and discharge impact
Cycle life: The cycle life of gel GEL batteries is generally longer than that of ordinary AGM lead-acid batteries. This means that gel GEL batteries can withstand more charge and discharge cycles under the same conditions of use and are therefore more durable.
Charging characteristics: Colloidal GEL batteries have lower charging current requirements and slower charging speeds, but generate less heat during charging. Ordinary AGM lead-acid batteries can accept higher charging currents and charge faster, generating more heat

Applicable environment: Because the internal electrolyte of the colloidal GEL battery is gel-like, it has strong resistance to vibration and bumps, and is suitable for environments that require higher durability and anti-vibration performance. Ordinary AGM lead-acid batteries are relatively fragile and have weak resistance to vibration and bumps.
Cost: Generally speaking, the price of colloidal GEL batteries is slightly higher than that of ordinary AGM lead-acid batteries because colloidal GEL batteries require more processes and materials during manufacturing
To sum up, choosing between ordinary AGM lead-acid batteries or colloidal GEL batteries depends on specific usage requirements, including cycle life, charging characteristics, applicable environment, cost, and other factors.
