When an athlete reaches an Olympic level, often we say they have reached their ‘peak’ performance. It is the optimal level to achieve great results. You too can achieve peak performance in your life and in your business.
By applying these 4 principles you will move closer to performing at your best.
1), Devote Your Time & Energy to Activities of High Value. – You’ve only got 24 hours each day and time is the most limiting factor in your business. You need to shift the way you think to understand that your time is valuable so you need to devote it to activities of high value. Once you do this you start to delegate, outsource and automate the activities of lower value.
2), Deal With the Real Problem. – Distractions occur and problems arise… It is common to try and fix the issue then and there whether that is a client’s job gone wrong, a disgruntled customer or your team having a disagreement. The problem is that many businesses deal with the issue at hand and the issue persists and keep happening. To be a peak performer, you need to search for the root cause of the issue. You need to ask questions and be really honest with yourself about what is really going on.
3), Do Income Generating Activities Every Day – It is easy to get distracted by the everyday running of your business, focusing on delivering the product or service you provide. To be a peak performer, you need to make sure that every day you make income generating activities a priority. They need to become non-negotiable. Whether it is marketing, selling or another income generating activity. See if you can do just 5 per day.
4), Ask “Who” Instead of “What” – Often we ask “what” when we encounter a problem. What is my goal? What do I have to do? Or we ask “how”. How do I get more clients? But the key to peak performance is to ask “Who”. Who has dealt with this before? Who can I turn to for coaching and mentoring? You need to leverage other people’s knowledge and experience if you want to be a peak performer.
By starting to apply these to your life and business, your chance of achieving peak performance will be much higher and your business will soar.
