Dear Follower,
Safety is the No.1 priority in the operation of ATEX systems - and for good reasons. ATEX environments, which encompass potentially explosive areas, require unwavering dedication to the protection of employees, equipment, and the environment. A single mistake or negligence can have devastating consequences. Therefore, thorough training, adherence to strict regulations, and the use of high-quality safety equipment are essential.
For the #PerfectSampleGas team, this issue is of outstanding importance, which we want to address precisely in this newsletter. To do so, we will take a closer look at various aspects of extractive gas analysis:
In addition to primary sampling point via gas sampling probes, the sample is conveyed via (heated) lines to the location of processing or directly to the analyzer. Even if the sampling or processing with the analyzer takes place in a safe area, the heated lines often intersect ATEX zones. In recent years, a new perspective on the danger of electrostatic discharge has emerged: The operator can either ensure that the line is grounded at all points (e.g., via the cable tray) to prevent dangerous charging or use a solution that is fully ATEX certified.
