PERFECTING THE SHOT
Growing up, we've all heard the saying 'practice makes perfect' countless times. One place where this rings true is in basketball.
Let’s say you’re a beginner who has watched a lot of basketball matches on TV and wants to get out there on the court and replicate the moves that your favourite players did on TV. You then join coaching but soon realize those cool jump shots aren't as easy as they seem. It takes hours, days, even weeks of practice before you start seeing progress. But eventually, with dedication, that shot becomes effortless, and you finally understand what people meant all along when they said ”Practice makes perfect”.
This principle applies just as much in the workplace. It's the commitment to honing your skills that truly sets you apart. The more time you invest in improving your craft, the better you become.
That's why deliberate practice is the key to expertise. So, make sure to invest in it.
