Global corona virus pandemic, an uncertain future both economically and environmentally, no doubt that these are times filled with stress, anxiety and worry unlike what many of us have experienced before. Landscape has changed all of a sudden.
But with most of the nations in lock down around the world and tens of millions around the world being asked to stay at home for weeks if not months to come, it could also be an excellent opportunity to cultivate a new mindset.
A mindset is a set of assumptions, methods, or notations held by one or more people or groups of people. A mindset can also be seen as arising out of a person's world view or philosophy of life.
“Your beliefs become your thoughts, your thoughts become your words, your words become your actions, your actions become your habits, your habits become your values, your values become your destiny.” — Mahatma Gandhi
In particular, an individual's mindset impacts how they face and cope with challenges.
- Do you believe that abilities are fixed or abilities can be developed?
- Is the world out there waiting to get you or you are here to go out there and win the world?
“The most important question anyone can ask is: What myth am I living?” — Carl Jung
Using the power of subconscious mind, we can transcend our limiting beliefs, see through the myths we are living and our blind spots, examine how our habits of mind manifest to create our lives and our world — and tap our collective capacities for profound personal and societal transformation.
“Mindsets are habits of mind formed by previous experiences”
Your thoughts create your reality. Their influence permeates everything – What’s inside us manifests outside, shaping our future possibilities.
We live in turbulent times. Together, we are facing inter related challenges and an ever-growing number of social and ecological crises. The primary root cause that creates all of our crises in the first place — is also our mindsets. All of today's great global problems are consequences of reliving unexamined habits of mind.
The urgent need to examine our mindsets is to ensure we can mount a self-aware profound response to the great challenges of our day. We simply can’t respond to our personal and global problems in a meaningful way unless we also learn how to examine our mindsets as an integral part of how we live our lives.
And if you ever thought it takes ages to make a change, shift your thinking or develop new mindsets – Please don’t ever underestimate your subconscious mind. Change is instant. It’s the decision to change that takes longer.
