A Perfect Omelette

Is it that easy to make an omelette? And yes, it has nothing to do with the ongoing pandemic.
It’s an art to make an omelette, I reckon there should be competitions just to make omelettes; what say?
Let’s try and relate making an omelette to the recipe of crafting one’s career or startup.
Who is the egg?
It’s not you. You are the breakfast chef. The egg is the main ingredient in this preparation, then the question here you need to ask yourself is, what is your key ingredient to start with? You may need to analyse what is it that makes you stand out; is it the people skills, technical skills, physical appearance or it’s just the business idea which is unique.
The Edges
Have you ever noticed that if you apply oil/butter to the edges of pan then it is much easier to flip an omelette?
In your career path, you know what skills you got and what you want to achieve, but there will be speed humps in the path. Don’t let these small hurdles get you stuck (like the egg sticks to pan in case if you apply less oil/butter).
Then what’s Butter here? It is your self-belief, self-motivation which will act as lubrication to glide you through difficult phases of your career.
Perfect Shape
Is getting a perfect circle of omelette such a challenging task?
Most of us we overthink, that to achieve a certain kind of job we need to know this concept or should hold that diploma or should have A+ in a particular technology. You would have heard stories that people get into one job, they learn and move to a higher position or gets an opportunity to work on a life-changing project which uplifts their career or business.
I’m perfectly ready is a myth, there is always something we fear that we may not be knowing. So stop fearing and stop thinking of the “Perfect Shape”. Just go for it.
Presentation
Will a few coriander leaves on top of the omelette look nice? Or may I just keep some sliced red and green pepper with olives on side dish?
Winning an interview or client meeting is 25% based on the presentation for sure. Your attire, how groomed you are, body language are all very important.
What if the interview is telephonic or a video call? I got a friend who attended 24 telephonic interviews, she then recorded them, learnt from every interview and finally got the highest-paid contract.
Present yourself as you are, if you are outspoken, you may speak a lot; if you like to stay reserved, then just say the required statements. You will be hired or you will be winning a client for what you are and not something else.
Finally, it’s the Taste
What if omelette is undercooked or burnt? Will it still chance a stand to taste good?
No, not really.
Irrespective of how you present yourself, whatever degree and certifications you got if you can not justify the true you and how you are the one whom the interviewer is looking for then the whole omelette making process need to be repeated.
The end product has to be the one which can be accepted in the market with little said bugs. If the end-product does not fulfil consumer need then it won’t be accepted in the market.
You are the one who can give the interviewer or the client taste of your skills and what you possess. You know it better how to express them. Maybe you would have already thought of a couple of examples which you can give to the person on the other side of the table.
I have been making an omelette for a while now and every time I make it I try to achieve perfection while enjoying the entire process.
The feat is not achieved overnight and needs a bit of hard work and determination.
Believe in yourself. All the best with your omelette.
Please share your omelette story ??
