A Perfect Journey...

It has been 2 weeks since we moved COGO Fitness + Performance into a new sublease location and it has been the truly the happiest moment in my business journey thus far. I see things clearly now, I work on learning marketing ideas where ever I can scrounge, I shop for equipment on a monthly basis (hopefully) and try to get the word out daily through instagram, Facebook, and twitter. But I don't do adds per say, aside the odd one I do it with visuals of real people performing feats of strength and endurance and trying to become better versions of themselves!

I shoot these pictures out onto social media with some inspirational quips or the odd play on words and I realize that what I'm most proud of is the people in the pics. These are wonderful clients that saw me through a crisis that almost levelled my business to the ground over the length of a weekend. Long story short, a partnership dissolved and 2 of us partners had to find new homes; needless to say necessity is the mother of not just invention but also hustling! Within one week I was operational once again trying to forget the onslaught of issues that got me there in the first place but remembering the lessons I took from my brief partnership experience. The truth is, it was my clients who stayed tight to my promise that I would open again soon. These people inspire me to help them seek a better version of themselves within the walls of COGO Fitness + Performance. They in turn inspire me to become a better version of myself as a trainer, business owner, boyfriend, and student of life.

This last statement takes me back to a long time ago when I was asked, what do you see yourself doing in 5 years? I told them that I would like to be in my own facility, and training a steady flow of clients. Then I stopped myself and said,"Sorry... I would like to inspire the masses to seek out what they feel is the perfect person within them, and teach them although this may be an imperfect goal; their journey will be be perfect." My journey to this new place in my life with the new facility, and the slow growth of new and returning clients will be fraught with obstacles, struggles, and small victories. These are the same things my beautiful clients see when I add 10 Lbs more to their deadlifts; it's just another mountain we traverse together. In the end we seek happiness within ourselves but happiness like everything is earned, happiness is climbing out of a hole and seeing a friendly face at the top extending a hand to help.

At COGO Fitness + Performance I started seeing that face in the community I've built within my clients as they cheered each other on when one was surpassing a new personal record in their front squat. It has taken a long time for me to find a home for my COGO family, but to see the community I've started to build inspires me to work harder. I realize now I don't work for COGO, I am COGO, and everyone there can proudly say,"I am COGO too!" So if you're in the neighbourhood and you want to come checkout a great environment with friendly and inspiring faces, checkout our class schedule at www.cogofitness.com and try a class on us. Until then;

Stay healthy my friends...
