Perfect Day = Peak fall colors in Wisconsin, The Outdoors and a Leinies!
I was out hiking this past weekend at Devils Lake State Park in Wisconsin. For those that don’t know the lay of the land, there is a lake in the middle of the park with a couple of good size bluffs that surround it. I originally went to the park to enjoy the beautiful autumn weather and to capture some peak fall color photos. At the halfway point of my hike I decided to stop at the park concessions stand to get a snack. To my surprise they were also selling individual cans of beer. They had one can left of the Leinenkugels Harvest Patch Shandy. Although I was very thirsty the marketing portion of my brain kicked in and thought that I needed to capture this can along with the fantastic fall foliage. All of these shots were taken approximately 500 feet above the lake and are multiple photos to bring the foreground and background into focus. Here are a few of my favorite shots from the day. Let me know if you have a favorite and maybe I’ll forward it on to Leinenkugels. Thanks for taking a look and giving me your feedback. FYI….the beer was very tasty at the end of my hike! 9 年And a bit more...The Baraboos are the weathered core of an ancient mountain range that was once as high as the Rockies. The rocks of the Baraboos are over 1 billion years old. That's getting up there...

9 年Great park and great shots. The geology of Devil's Lake is what I find most interesting. The lake rests in the channel of the ancestral Wisconsin River. At the end of the Ice Age a moraine blocked the the gap in the Baraboos & as the ice melted it formed a huge lake. The lake finally got too deep for the Baraboos to hold it back and it broke through and cut a new channel for the Wisconsin - the Dells. So who says the Midwest is boring?
