New York City Employers Can Breathe a Little Easier: NYC PayTransparency Law’s Effective Date is Now November 1, 2022 (The Employer Report)?On May 12, 2022, New York City Mayor Eric Adams signed a bill into law amending New York City’s pay transparency law, postponing the law’s original May 15, 2022 effective date to November 1, 2022. The law will require NYC employers with four or more employees to disclose in job postings – including those for promotion or transfer opportunities – the minimum and maximum salary offered for any position located within New York City.
IATSE Script Supervisors & Production Coordinators Local161 Fighting For “Pay Equity” As Contract Talks Begin Monday (Deadline)?IATSE Local 161, which represents East Coast script supervisors, production coordinators and accountants, will begin bargaining with the AMPTP on Monday for a new film and TV contract. Pay equity is a major issue. 66% of the local’s 1,400 members in 23 states are women, and that the local’s production coordinators are paid “significantly less” than department heads in male-dominated crafts.
Gender pay gap reporting in Ireland – new guidance published(Lewis Silken)?The Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth has finally published some details on how employers will have to calculate their gender pay gap statistics. Anyone familiar with UK gender pay gap reporting will feel an initial sense of déjà vu when reading the guidance. It appears that legislators in Ireland have been heavily inspired by the UK Regulations.?
