Hello, Pep here!
Welcome to my school of recruitment tactics! Over the course of your stay at my training academy, you’ll hear lectures from some of the most recognised managers in world football. They’ll offer unique insights on how their tactics and lessons will help benefit you on the sales floor.
Get comfortable, take notes and pay attention, this might just help you win the Top Biller D’Or one day.
Before you jump into the training, we recommend familiarising yourself with the agenda and what we expect you to learn.
Good luck recruiters!
Heavy Metal Recruiting with Jürgen Klopp (8.00am – 8.45am)
Ideal for: consultants who think aggression is better than technique when recruiting.
First up is my old nemesis Jürgen. In his lecture, Klopp will explain to you the benefits of recruiting at 100 miles per hour.
This talk is all about your sales patter. If you’ve got the fire power and gift of the gab, Jürgen’s talk on Heavy Metal Recruiting will have you knocking in deals left, right and centre.
Klopp’s Heavy Metal Recruiting focuses on a highly offensive and aggressive sprint style of resourcing. It’s not the most technical approach in the industry but it’s exciting and guaranteed to get results.
Parking the Bus with José Mourinho (8.45am – 9.30am)
Ideal for: recruiters who always get on the defensive when things don’t go their way.
If things aren’t going your way, it’s time to park the bus. In this lecture, José will explain the necessity of a defensive approach to recruitment.
This talk isn’t about an “attack, attack, attack” mentality, instead it covers the importance of cutting your losses and defending your position in the company.
Hitting KPIs, making call times and relieving pressure are all vital in José Mourinho’s defensive recruitment masterclass. Parking the bus won’t get you fans but it might just save your job.
Playing the Long Ball with Sam Allardyce (9.30am – 10.15am)
Ideal for: recruiters who put all their faith in one candidate.
In Big Sam’s lecture, you’ll learn all about his tried and tested method of playing the long ball in recruitment.
This involves finding a long shot candidate who you like the look of, putting all your focus onto that person and hope they knock in a deal for you.
It’s not the most effective way of approaching the game but if Big Sam can make a 25 year career from it, you can too!
Becoming a Set-Piece Specialist with Gareth Southgate (10.30am – 11.15am)
(With special guest Sir Harry Maguire)
Ideal for: recruiters who prefer to work from a script.
Sir Gareth Southgate’s talk is all about how to become a set piece specialist on the sales floor.
Southgate will go into detail about the importance of planning, training and meticulously executing set scripts to help convert your sales calls.
Disclaimer: We request attendees to refrain from persistent “it’s coming home” chants and declarations of love for Sir Gareth throughout the duration of the lecture.
Staying Up Any Way Possible with Tony Pulis (11.15am – 12.00pm)
Ideal for: recruiters who love underhand tactics.
Tony Pulis has an incredible ability to salvage a sinking ship. If this sounds like your career in recruitment, you’ll take relief from his unusual approach to recruitment survival.
If you’re looking for something a little more aggressive than Mourinho’s parking the bus, Tony Pulis will teach you all the underhand tactics you need to stay in the game. From calling friends to make up call times, to snaking it with candidates – this is one for recruiters with less than favourable morals.
Finding Someone to Blame with Mark Hughes (1.00pm – 1.45pm)
Ideal for: recruiters who love a moan.
Finding excuses is an art! Whether your failure is the result of a poor referee or incompetent candidates, Mark Hughes’ lecture will help you think on your feet to find someone to blame.
Ideal for the recruiters who can do no wrong!
Knowing When to Quit with Arsene Wenger (1.45pm – 2.30pm)
Ideal for: recruiters who never know when to quit.
“When everything goes against you and people start calling for your head, keep going for another 5 years”. This is the key message from ex-Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger in his prestigious lecture.
Knowing when to quit is a skill and Arsene pulls on his own personal experiences on this topic to help teach others struggling in the industry.
How to Succeed When You Are Always Under-Appreciated with Brendan Rodgers (2.30pm – 3.15pm)
Ideal for: under-appreciated recruiters.
Always the bridesmaid, never the bride? Always laying the groundwork for other recruiters?
Brendan Rodgers’ intriguing lecture will help recruiters who find themselves doing a cracking job without the praise they deserve.
A Talk on Resilience with David Moyes (3.15pm – 4pm)
Ideal for: recruiters who are awful at their job.
Getting knock back after knock back? Always find yourself on the receiving end of criticism? Never manage to find your winning form?
David Moyes knows exactly how you feel! In his lecture, Moyes will be drawing on his own personal experiences with the likes of Manchester United, Real Sociedad, Sunderland and West Ham to explain what it takes to be resilient and always bounce back… even if you are useless at your job!
Playing Out from the Back with Pep Guardiola (4pm – 5pm)
Ideal for: the best all-round recruiters...
