Hello again. With just a few days to go before the year ends, we’d like to share with you some of the news that have been relevant for the company during 2022. These are milestones that motivate us greatly for the future and encourage us to continue working as we’ve been doing so far.

ACCIONA ENERGíA JOINS THE CDP RANKING OF THE WORLD'S MOST SUSTAINABLE COMPANIES

We begin with great recognition for ACCIONA Energía. Just one year after the company's IPO, it joined the Ibex 35 as one of the most solvent companies listed in Spain.

Now, the excellent news is that ACCIONA Energía has entered the CDP ranking as one of the companies with the best practices and results in the fight against climate change. Only 283 companies make up this list out of more than 18,000 evaluated worldwide.

ACCIONA ENERGíA TO EXPAND THE MACINTYRE WIND PRECINCT IN AUSTRALIA TO 2000MW

The company has experienced a year full of challenges, and new clean energy projects to promote the decarbonisation of the countries in which it operates. One of the most recent and key to the energy transformation in Australia is the expansion of the Macintyre complex, which is now the largest in the country with up to 2,000 MW of capacity.

ACCIONA WINS OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE CONTRACT FOR EGYPT'S GABAL EL ASFAR WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT

ACCIONA operates in desalination and water treatment projects in a multitude of countries. One of the latest awards in 2022, key to mitigating water shortages in the area, is the maintenance of the Gabal El Asfar treatment plant in Egypt. This is the largest treatment complex in Africa and the Middle East and the third largest in the world, a WWTP that treats the wastewater of 4 million inhabitants in Cairo.

ACCIONA ENTERS FINLAND WITH WORLD'S THIRD LONGEST UNDERSEA TUNNEL

Another extraordinary project for the company in 2022 is the award of the design and development of the world's third longest underwater tunnel in Finland. The tunnel, around 17 kilometres long, will transport up to 50m3/second of seawater at 2°C and 70 metres deep into the Baltic Sea for use as a district heating system in the Finnish capital.

ACCIONA.ORG TO SUPPLY ELECTRICITY TO 100 FAMILIES IN THE PHILIPPINES FOR THE FIRST TIME

This year acciona.org also brings a wonderful milestone in its ambition to provide energy, water and sanitation services to places where access to them is difficult. In 2022, the foundation began its activity in the Philippines with the "Light in El Nido House" project, consisting of the installation of home photovoltaic systems in 100 homes in the town of El Nido, in the province of Palawan.

RICKY RUBIO NAMED ACCIONA SUSTAINABILITY AMBASSADOR

At ACCIONA, we continue to rely on people with public outreach who share our values to spread messages related to climate emergency and sustainable regeneration. In 2022, basketball player Ricky Rubio joined us to collaborate in this objective, along with other international figures such as Mexican actress Karla Souza and Chilean journalist Amaro Gómez-Pablos.

NEW BRIDGE OVER LEGENDARY PACIFIC ROUTE

This year, after many difficulties in its execution, such as the blow of the pandemic or the destruction of a typhoon, the Philippines inaugurated the Cebu Bridge: the longest cable-stayed bridge in the country, developed by ACCIONA. A magnificent work of engineering that will put the Philippines back on the road to progress and improved communications.
