People Worth Meeting; an ME Sufferer, a Cyber Security Expert, a Children's Clothing Designer, & a Social Entrepreneur - "The Coffee at Eleven Show"

I hope you are all doing well out there? Staying safe - staying together by staying apart...

The great news is we are one week closer to getting to mix with each other again!

We had another busy week on The Coffee at Eleven Show.

Born out of COVID, 'The Coffee at Eleven Show' is where Yours Truly has a cup of coffee virtually with a special guest each day Monday to Friday LIVE at 11am in a secure 'Zoom Cafe' where other guests sit around and listen in, and then get involved with Q&A towards the end.

It's been fascinating! (I was thinking about 'TED - Ideas worth spreading' and I thought, 'Coffee at Eleven - People Worth Meeting' :-))

And so that's what we did, we met some really cool people from various walks; an ME Sufferer, a Cyber Security Specialist, a Children's Clothing Designer and a Social Entrepreneur.

Below are the highlights from The Coffee at Eleven Show - Corona Lockdown Week 4.

  • Monday: "Control the Controllables!" Sarah Warde, ME | Chronic Fatigue Sufferer's advice to all on Coffee@11
  • Tuesday: No Show (we were hacked - Zoom Bombed badly! After we fixed the issues and plugged the holes, we went live again on Wednesday and I explained what happened)
  • Wednesday: "Press Pause Before You Press Send" Liam Lynch L2 Cyber Security Solutions Helps Us Stay Safe Online (Cyber Security was the topic because of what happened Tuesday)
  • Thursday: “Nothing is the end of the world – take every day as it comes” Sharon McDermott, Creator Ky Ky Kids
  • Friday: "Good is Good Enough - Be Selfish, not Self-centered" Beautiful COVID advice; Pascal Derrien SPADE

As before, each guest brought a completely different vibe and perspective to our being in Lockdown, reflecting not only on their businesses before during and after COVID, but increasingly on the unexpected positives appearing in the totality of their lives by being forced, by COVID, to stop.

Towards the end of each interview, before we went to LIVE Q&A from the floor - I asked each of them for the one tip they would offer their nearest and dearest in terms of coping with COVID; this is what each said.

To find out what each guest's 'Coping with COVID No. 1 Tip' is, stick on the kettle, grab a coffee, pull up a comfy chair, gift yourself ten minutes of YOU time and watch the 'Top Tips' video (highly recommended) , listen to the Top Tips Podcast (recommended) or read on below... then pick your favorite and watch the full interview (links below each guest's tip)

Top Tips (and short Bios) In Their Own Words

  • Monday: Diagnosed with ME/Chronic Fatigue in 2001, my special guest on ‘The Coffee at Eleven Show’, Sarah Warde found herself in lock-down well before the rest of us. BRIEF BIO: Sarah says... "I was born in Limerick the youngest of 7. One brother and 5 girls remaining. I am married to a very patient man as I am not easily tamed. I’m bit of a free spirit, hence being sent to boarding school at 11 years old.! The nuns tried there best to control me but alas it was an illness called ME/Chronic Fatigue that finally clipped my wings big time. Running the ME Group is voluntary and I get help from the girls in the group, my husband and Son when needed - no such thing as a one man show. I love nature and being by the ocean. Something nobody knows: I’ve written a book which is being critiqued at the moment."

  • Wednesday: Name Liam Lynch Business Name L2 Cyber Security Solutions What does your business do? Cyber Security, Data Protection & Business Continuity training and consulting. How long established? 4 Years How many employees? 1 Liam has had a lengthy career (30+ years), starting out as a programmer back in the 80’s, and yes, he did put in a lot of work to prepare systems for the Y2K bug! J He really liked to be hands-on with the technology, so he transitioned to supporting and managing the hardware in the companies he worked for. After 13 years with Aon, where he managed a team spread around the world, he chose to strike out on his own to focus on the area he was most passionate about – Cyber Security – and sharing his knowledge with small businesses. Something nobody knows about you? I was one of those fearless young fellas that drove the lifeguards on Ballybunion beach mad, as I would think nothing of climbing the cliffs there. I was there again last year and I looked at them through more mature eyes. There is not a chance I would even think about it now.
