Are these people just talking, or are they actually listening! If they are trying to introduce you to change! Check these things out:

Are they explaining to you why the changes they trying to do have a direct impact on you? Are they using unfamiliar language or jargon? Long statements, which contain many different ideas?

Only hearing what reinforces their point of view? Not asking for your advice?
