People at Temedica: Talent Acquisition Team

We’re growing at Temedica, and we’ve established a cohesive and experienced talent acquisition team in order to find the best possible additions to our organization! In this interview, we’ll introduce you to our two new members, exploring their background and what drew them to Temedica whilst acknowledging the skills necessary to succeed in this exciting field.

First things first: meet our head of talent acquisition, Florian Meister! In between travelling the world and visiting new places, Florian has developed an extensive list of credentials in this sector, having previously worked for a number of impressive institutions.

Can you tell us about your career journey and how you came across the opportunity to be Head of Talent Acquisition at Temedica?

I’ve been working in recruitment and employer branding for roughly six years, and after my first few experiences in headhunting for tech talents in Berlin and building up a recruitment agency’s German headquarters, I decided to switch sides and started working for companies internally. My focus always lies on scalability, company culture, and transforming companies into workplaces that really enhances their employees, ensuring everyone has the chance to thrive and be the best they can be.

Temedica is currently offering a number of exciting new opportunities – what’s important for a potential candidate to know, or skills for them to have?

I’d say that we hire based on character and train for skills, so the most important aspect would be that the person shares our mindset and core values - we aim high, we win together, and we take ownership. If you’d like to help make the world of healthcare a better place, then join us!

What do you value the most at Temedica, and what do you like about our company culture?

As a fresh starter, I can already feel everyone’s hunger for innovation and honesty with each other, collaborating regularly and taking feedback seriously. I feel a sense of appreciation for everyone questioning the status quo and the importance of helping one another to create value and impact.

Originally from Halle, our junior talent acquisition manager Richard Wache recently joined Temedica in order to help us build the best team possible. We’re excited to welcome Richard to our organization, and took this opportunity to pick his brain for tips on getting started in this sector.

What drew you to Temedica, and how does it differ from other organisations you’ve worked with?

For me, there are two things in particular that drew me to Temedica. First and foremost, I admire the vision that we’re pursuing here. From my personal life, I’m well aware of the problem of the lack of digitization within the healthcare industry and can clearly see the impact that patient-centered treatment and data analysis have - and the new opportunities that they bring.

The other has to be the team. I’ve worked very closely with Flo before, and, in that time, I learned and developed a lot, and I was very happy to have the opportunity to continue this development in connection with an extremely exciting product.

What are your responsibilities at Temedica, and what does your typical working day look like?

I’m responsible for recruiting in our business operations domain, including HR, finance, and legal. I manage all applications from initial screening to offer, and am available as a point of contact for candidates throughout the process.

My day starts in the (home) office with a coffee - every now and then I also do yoga before starting work, then I look at applications and answer some messages. Afterwards, I search for new candidates for open roles via LinkedIn, before meeting Florian for a jour fixe to chat a bit, address topics, and coordinate the day. After this, I often work on upcoming projects or conduct interviews. After lunch, I normally have weekly meetings, and in the afternoons, I often have a few more interviews - depending on the availability of the applicants.

What advice would you give your former self if you had the chance?

That’s really a good question - take your chances and go abroad, whether it’s an exchange year or an Erasmus semester!

Think you’d be a good fit for Florian and Richard’s team? Take a look at our careers page for all of our current opportunities!
