People at Temedica: Sascha, People Operations Manager
We’re moving fast at Temedica, and nobody is more crucial to this growth than our People Operations Manager Sascha! In the latest instalment of our People at Temedica series, we speak with him about his career journey and how he came across this exciting role with us, what he values the most about life at Temedica, and the advice he’d give to potential applicants looking for a role in the HR sector.
What are your responsibilities at Temedica, and what does your typical working day look like?
I support our employees throughout their entire employee lifecycle at Temedica, from onboarding to offboarding. My operative day-to-day business is determined by employee requests. This range of tasks is very diverse and can include anything from questions about contracts, holiday planning or sick leave. If certain similar questions occur frequently, I prepare the answers in writing and make them available to everyone. However, I don’t just deal with administrative tasks, but also work on a strategic level - for example, helping concepts for our department being set up and developed. In addition to this, I also take care of the documentation of processes to make them scalable.
Can you tell us about your career journey and how you came across the opportunity to be People Operations Manager at Temedica?
I was applying for positions during my masters thesis, and started in 2017 as a working student with my former employer. The company was still very young at the time, and I helped to build up the HR department and develop its processes there. After four years, I was ready for something new. I was contacted directly via LinkedIn for the role of People Operations Manager at Temedica, and after a really laid-back application process, I decided to accept for the position!
What do you value the most at Temedica?
From the very beginning, I thought the fields of healthcare and HR within the IT healthcare sector and the goal of improving personal health were fascinating. Throughout the course of the application process, I realized that there’s so much more behind it than just the basic idea of bringing these goals to life. Now, after a while at Temedica, I’ve been able to experience another great strength – our team. Everyone is very open, helpful, and willing to work together to find solutions. I find this team spirit paired with the company's purpose great. It's fun to work in this environment.

We’re on the hunt for new talents and currently have several open HR positions - what do you think is essential for a candidate to bring with them for this department?
In general, I think HR should be seen as a “service” for different stakeholders. These are first and foremost the employees, who need to be retained in the long term - not least because of the increasing shortage of skilled workers and the war for talents! It’s important to be able to advise managers strategically and to know how to handle confidential data, for example, but the service concept is the most important thing in my opinion. This sometimes also means answering the same questions from employees five times in a row!
With Temedica in particular, it’s important to note that we’re growing rapidly, and we’re continually and actively shaping and optimizing our HR processes. An active hands-on mentality is therefore a very helpful skill to have!
What advice would you give to your former self if you had the chance?
Be confident in yourself, trust in your abilities and stand up for your decisions - then you’ll achieve a lot!
