People With Successful Mindsets v You!

People With Successful Mindsets v You!

Successful people think differently compared to ordinary people. Their mindset is often what has made them successful in the first place.

To be successful in life hinges on you being able to think differently.

Albert Einstein once said:

“The world as we have created it is a process of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our thinking.”

To change things in our lives requires us to change our thinking. Success comes with changed thinking; with dynamic and constantly evolving thoughts.

If you think about failure and setbacks all the time, your chances of becoming successful are reduced, because you are already defeated in your mind.

A story comes to mind about an old man who was running a successful bakery. His business was booming, and his cakes had a lot more customers than any other bakeries in town. One day a regular customer had approached him with a newspaper detailing a struggling economy and recommending business owners do something to keep up. The old man was shocked because his business was booming and now his business will suffer.

The old man reduced his expenses for advertisements and even on the business expenses such as raw materials for his cakes and pastries. What happened next was more shocking.

Because he cut the advertising budget, fewer people visited his cafe. And to further reduce his business expenses he decided to use a lower quality of raw materials for his bakery items.

This further made the old man think about how bad the economy is.

What did I learn from this story?

The old man's business was booming irrespective of how good or bad the economy was in when he thought it, but when his thought changed to a negative side, his business became dull and he blamed the economy for it.

Your thinking can shape your life.

Here are a few thoughts for a few successful people ...

They Never Quit

“Winners never quit, and quitters never win.” ―Vince Lombardi

Successful people never quit. They don’t think about quitting. They stay true to their dreams.

Albert Einstein didn't speak fluently until he was nine years old, causing teachers to think he was slow. He was expelled from school for his rebellious nature and was refused admittance to the Zurich Polytechnic School. He went on to revolutionize science's understanding of the world, taking physics beyond its Newtonian view by developing the theory of General Relativity. He won the Nobel Prize, with his research leading the U.S. to build an atomic bomb, and influenced all aspects of culture, from religion to art, to late-night television.

Did He Quit? NO!

Thomas Edison's teachers told him he was "too stupid to learn anything." He didn’t have much more success in the workplace, as he was fired from his first two jobs for not being productive. Even as an inventor, reports claim that Edison made 1,000 unsuccessful attempts at inventing the light bulb. Happily, for night owls across the globe, attempt 1,001 worked out differently.

Did He Quit? NO!

At age 22, Walt Disney was fired from a Missouri newspaper for "not being creative enough." One of his early ventures, called Laugh-o-gram Studios, went bankrupt. The creator of Mickey and Minnie Mouse went on to be nominated for 59 Academy Awards, winning 32, all for his unparalleled animations. He still holds the record for the most Oscars won by an individual,

Did He Quit? NO!

So if you quit and if you give up, your goals and your dreams will be thrown into the drain.

Choose not to quit and not to give up. Keep on working on your dreams and take action on your goals. You can change your strategies and your plans, but not your goals and dreams. When you don’t get the result you want, improve your strategy, don’t quit.

They Trust Themselves

"As soon as you trust yourself, you will know how to live." - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Do you believe that you can achieve your dreams?

Do you believe that you can make a difference?

Do you believe that you can do whatever it takes to be who you really are?

If you don’t believe in yourself, then who else will?

Great people became great because they believed in themselves. They are just people, like you and me. Humans who have emotions, feelings and a life where they experience good and bad things. But they are great, and we can be too.

It's just a matter of believing in ourselves.

When you truly believe in yourself, it drives you to go all out and do your best to achieve what it is you want to achieve.

But if you do not believe in yourself or you have doubts about your ability, then you most likely not do your best. You will probably hold back, and not give it your best effort.

Sometimes situations are tough, and it is difficult to believe that things will go right. All you need to do then is to say that “It is possible!” and go for it.

Always choose to believe that you can do it no matter what the circumstances are. Reprogram your mind in such a way that it says, “it’s possible” as opposed to “it’s impossible”. Consistently feed your mind with inspirational success stories and how other people have done the things that you want.

They Sacrifice Their Time

"If you have a dream, it's definitely achievable through hard work, through dedication, sacrifice, everything." - Carli Lloyd

What possible changes can you make in your life if you wake up late every day?

What possible changes can you make if you are not willing to sacrifice your time and work hard?

Success will never come to you without hard work.

You might have read on social media about how some successful people wake up early in the morning. Some studies have shown that 90% of executives wake up before 6 am on weekdays, and nearly 50% of self-made millionaires wake up at least three hours before their workday actually begins.

LinkedIn CEO Jeff Weiner wakes at 5:30 am, checks email reads the news, exercises, meditates, and eats breakfast (all before 9 am).

Gary Vaynerchuk, co-founder and CEO of VaynerMedia, wakes up at 6 am every single day and gets his day started by checking his phone, catching up on the news, and then exercising.

Apple CEO Tim Cook wakes up at 3:45 am every morning to go through email, exercise and grab a coffee before settling into his workday.

Jack Dorsey, co-founder and CEO of Twitter and Square, wakes at 5 am to meditate, exercise, make coffee, and then check-in for his workday.

So, it appears that a lot of today’s top business leaders are morning people.

So, become one.

Don’t let your laziness dominate you.

Success is definitely not easy, but the rewards will be well worth it.

There’s no free food. If you want something, you have got to be willing to go for it. Go all out.

You can always choose your way of achieving success. However, at the end of the day, you will have to let go things that are less important to you.

Sleep less (6 to 8 hours is enough), spend less time on social media times or watching TV times each day.

You have to be more effective and learn to leverage in systems to work faster.

They Are Always Full Of Optimism

"A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty." - Winston Churchill

When you expect good things to happen you will see opportunity in every difficulty.

How can you create a business with 0% of optimism?  (actually with less than 100% of optimism?)

How can you go to your office and work properly if you have low optimism on your table?

Would you buy a lottery if you think that you won't win?

It is just a matter of having an optimistic thought that will make you see opportunities in most difficulties.

People like Gary V or Bill Gates do not invest their millions of worth wealth thinking something could go wrong. It is because they expect good things to happen, they are willing to invest more and more.

You can do the same.

Do you expect your dreams and your goals to come true?

Do you believe tomorrow will be better?

If you don’t, chances are, you will never go all out and you will never do the extra work.

Think there’s good in everything.

Think that awesome opportunities are coming your way every day.

When your mindset is right, you can achieve anything in your life.

They Are Always Willing To Take Calculated Risks.

"Often the difference between a successful person and a failure is not one has better abilities or ideas, but the courage that one has to bet on one's ideas, to take a calculated risk - and to act." - Andre Malraux

The courage to take calculated risks and work hard is a main characteristic of successful people.

Richard Branson, Walt Disney, Albert Einstien and others were (or are) calculated risk-takers.

Do you know how Richard Branson started Virgin Airlines?

He was once stranded on the airport at Puerto Rico because his flight to the Virgin Islands was cancelled. To overcome a situation of being stuck at Puerto Rico he took a calculated risk. He charted a plane to fly to the Virgin Islands.

He used a blackboard and wrote, “Virgin Airlines, $39 one way to the Virgin Islands.”

He walked around in the airport with the blackboard and within minutes, he sold all the seats and filled up his plane. After that, he got inspired and called Boeing to see if there were any 747s for sale. That was how Richard Branson started his famous Virgin Airlines.

He wanted to get out of Puerto Rico no matter whatever it takes. So he planned out something that has a huge calculated-risk.

Sometimes to get what you want; you will just do whatever it takes regardless of the risk.

They Always Network With Other Successful People.

"Networking is not about just connecting people. It's about connecting people with people, people with ideas, and people with opportunities." -Michele Jennae

If you are a football player, would you play with a newbie who has no idea how to play football or would you play with a professional? Of course, playing with a professional will make the whole game interesting than playing with a newbie and you can even learn new tactics of the game.

Similarly, If you want to be a great person, then start networking with great people. This will allow you to learn their techniques as well.

It's not just about connecting or keeping in touch, it’s about keeping in touch with people who have ideas, who can open up the way to opportunities and who can inspire you.

Don’t hang around people who have no motives in their life and hope that one day you will become successful. To be successful, hang out with other successful people.

Choose to connect with people who are more successful and are doing better than you. You want to learn their mindset, their beliefs, and their attitudes and then apply them in your life to create outstanding success too.

They Think About Learning & Adapting All The Time

“Success is a process that continues, not a status that you reach. If you are alive, there are lessons to be learned.” - Denis Waitley

Humans have always looked for ways to improve our methods and do better.

The modern technology that we have in our lives now would never happen been invented if inventors didn’t learn, experiment and adapt.

How can you become better in the field of the best? You have to learn, experiment and improve.

Usain Bolt, the worlds fastest man didn’t just become the fastest man in one night. He trains 90 minutes a day in the gym to run that fast. And each time he hits the gym, he doesn’t become slow but faster.

Michael Phelps, the Olympic swimmer who won a total of 28 medals dedicated most of his time in the pool, learning to swim faster and better. He tries to perfect his skills and keep on improving his swimming techniques.

The more you learn the better you become. The better you are the better results you will get. That’s how success is made.

These are some of the mindsets you can consider if you want to become successful. Think like them to become successful. Success never comes with negative thoughts, lack of dedication or unwilling to take risks. It’s a mixture of all the above-mentioned points.

Great article Michael. I would like to add that it is so important to keep questioning if you maintaining a fixed mindset vs a growth mindset.?A growth mindset is a belief that our intelligence and abilities can be improved with effort and the right strategies.?A fixed mindset, on the other hand, is the belief that our intelligence and abilities are more or less stable and unchangeable.
