People seem to be selective about everything except their Financial Institution...
I just watched an interesting video that simplifies the differences found in Financial Institutions. The video shows the differences in how much people are paying for services from Financial Institutions. Not all are equal as we all probably know but many are not willing to shop at all on the differences. I get it..FI is a boring chore.. until you need something or realize how much money your leaving on the table by not shopping around. I've also heard several excuses, like.. I need a national bank because I don't want to be somewhere were I don't have access to my money... forget that most people rarely use cash these days.. and several Financial Services companies offer free out of network ATM access or fee reimbursement. Also, never mind that Credit Unions as a whole have significantly more Free (shared) ATMs than any individual national bank could hope to have. So, why doesn't the average person look and shop. It may be in how we are messaging the differences or it may simply be that it just isn't all that interesting of a choice to make and once made; a major pain to move... oh.. here is the short Video from Money

6 年It’s tough Tony. Whilst money is key to how we measure success and complete many of the things we want to achieve in life we rarely give it the attention we need to. As we digitise banking not only have we commoditised it but also dehumanised it. As Financial Institutions adapt to this new world there will be those that compete on price and scale and those that compete on purpose . That purpose will be anchored on engagement , the challenge you highlight here
