People Are Not Robots

People Are Not Robots

No matter where you want to go in life, you need people to get there.

We interact with people every day and we have a responsibility to be respectful to one another.

Whether you are ordering a coffee from Costa, at the gym with your friend, or planning a project at work, the foundations of which are all built on human connection.

If you want to contribute to something significant, or you want to bring value, you need to understand that people are at the heart of everything.

People are not robots’ is a tongue-in-cheek statement to the approach on engaging with people.

Having empathy, reason, understanding, patience and good intentions are fundamental to building great relationships.

Since COVID there has been an unquantifiable shift in the way that we engage with each other.

Our personal relationships and communities are somewhat back to ‘normal’, however a scar was left on the world of work.

It doesn’t feel the same - that’s because it isn’t.

We are all ‘together’ but at the same time so far away.

We all work to the same goal, yet we are on different pitches.

We all ‘go to work’ but that’s often just a spare room with a laptop.

Since this catalyst to change, the human element of interactions has been stripped away.

That needs to be understood as a new way of working.

We now have completely remote teams, and nearly every business which did not adopt ‘digital’ has become extinct.

The digital and physical ‘worlds’ have merged into one.

That’s the new norm.

It’s more important than ever to maintain empathy and emotional intelligence.

Remember,

People are not Robots.

‘If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far go together.

We will soon be interacting with realistic AI avatars across our digital world and this will be the new-new norm. Internet of Bugs had a very interesting outlook on the future of this.

Some frightening concepts on that video James! But humans have created some amazing things, AI being one of them.
