Are People Quitting LinkedIn?
I have seen three posts from high profile connections about people who are no longer posting. Some post for a while and don't have as much to say. They remain valuable connections.
Some take time off to work. At this time of year I would be surprised to see an accountant posting since it is tax season. Others cannot deal with the noise and nonsense. Respect their space and feel better when they return.
Instead of posts about posting there are posts about people who no longer post. They never call anyone out. Why not? You cannot goad anyone into posting. If someone has never posted before you cannot groom them into posting.
They will or they won't. I cannot say if people are leaving this site. Whether they abandon their account, don't check it, are banned for viewing profiles in the hope they can connect with more people or any other reason- the "One billion" accounts insecure people hide behind to justify their use of this site probably includes every account ever opened.
Some are deceased. Others are permanently banned. Focus on your network, not one billion accounts. There are probably one billion lonely women in India and China who would love to start a relationship. Unless you learn the language and meet them somehow it is not going to change anything.

That concept caused a self proclaimed LinkedIn Expert to treat me like a troll. If I mentioned him you would say he is a great person. He is when you agree with him. If someone is only nice when you agree with them, they are not nice.
Or they are self proclaimed "LinkedIn Rockstars." Surround yourself with a good group. Whether it is young guys talking about leadership, English professionals, the chosen or even people you actually work with (a foreign concept in my life) find the best people.
Sometimes I receive likes and comments from connections with very few connections. For all I know this was the only worthwhile post they saw. You can make a difference with a select few.
If you don't post, comment. I made comments long before I was given the opportunity to write articles. Treat those comments like a conversation. Someday you might meet this person in life. You won't be strangers.
By no means shall I say everyone should post. That is like drunks saying everyone should be drinking. What works for some may not work for all. If you want to post- by all means put it out there. You might find common ground with someone you would not have the chance to meet otherwise. Get in the game.

1 年Thomas Jackson, I agree with you—self-proclaimed "LinkedIn Experts" or "LinkedIn Rockstars" are plenty.
