People Matter- An Opportunity to Thrive

Every day, our industry supports people who suffer extensive injuries on the job. Every day, I have the privilege of working with a group of professionals who thrive on helping others find opportunity after tragedy. I am incredibly proud of the WCF team who assisted a 23 year old gentleman who fell 20 feet from a roof and sustained multiple spinal fractures that prevented him from returning to construction labor jobs. The combined efforts of our Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist, Maria Peterson, and our bilingual adjuster Mirella Morales, encouraged this young man to get his driver's license and to improve his English skills. Within six weeks, he was driving and taking ESL classes online. The Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist helped him create a resume, did mock interviews, and helped him apply for positions. Today, he is working in a position where he earns more money and has benefits for the first time. With his improved English and computer skills, he continues to work toward obtaining his GED and is excited about setting his sights on pursuing a college degree. Way to thrive Mr. H! We are WCF!
