People of India or Delhi
Today, I witnessed an incident where I was going to buy some clothes near Janakpuri. A rickshaw carrying a passenger lost control and both the passenger and the rickshaw driver were injured. The passenger, a woman, fortunately didn't sustain serious injuries, but the rickshaw driver suffered from severe injuries, including a left leg fracture, and was in great pain.
What struck me was the reaction of the people around. Instead of helping the injured rickshaw driver, they rushed to assist the lady passenger. My friend Akshay and I, along with a few others, stepped in to help the injured rickshaw driver. We called his brother and informed the emergency number 112.
However, I was disappointed with the response from the emergency number. Rather than immediately connecting us to the appropriate authorities, we were subjected to a series of automated prompts, which was frustrating given the urgency of the situation.
To add to the chaos, a police patrol car (PCR) arrived before the ambulance. The police officer took my details before attending to the injured rickshaw driver. We were getting anxious, as the rickshaw driver was in severe pain, and every minute counted. I provided the ambulance with the location and pleaded for them to hurry due to the emergency, but their response left much to be desired.

When the ambulance finally arrived, it was staffed by individuals who seemed unprepared for this kind of emergency. They were slow to assist the injured rickshaw driver and even asked his brother to remove the stretcher from the ambulance. We had to intervene and place the rickshaw driver on the stretcher ourselves.
This incident highlights the shortcomings in our healthcare system in India, a country with a vast population and developing infrastructure. It's disheartening to see how people still shy away from helping those in need, particularly if they are less fortunate. Although we have made progress in abolishing untouchability and recognizing fundamental rights, there is still a long way to go in changing deep-rooted attitudes and improving our healthcare system.
This how Goverment reflects their growth.
Thank you.
