The people I connect with on Linked-in

I recently connected with a person in another country who had impeccable qualifications and credentials. His work experience showed him to be a king-of-industry and his Linked-in recommendations confirmed he had significant skill in his field. Surprisingly he responded within hours of my connection request with meaningful questions that made me sit up and take notice.
For a king of industry to put business-as-usual on hold and take a 'sales call' from a stranger is frankly remarkable in a bustling electronic world. I'm almost spent deliberating what's the quickest route to my next customer's sales presentation let alone prioritising my Linked-in connection requests. Not surprisingly this person resides in a country that is progressive on the world stage - probably a chicken and egg thing here.
So hats off to those who naturally have the band-width or have developed the ability to look outside their reality for the betterment of their business. This is a skill I am yet to master but am now more mindful of. As a frame of reference I haven't been able to refute the following quote: It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it. – Aristotle
I would replace 'educated mind' with an 'open mind' but the principle remains the same... can you test an idea on its merits and adopt it if the new thought works better than your prior thinking?
