Behavior is the mirror in which everyone shows their image

Satish based out of India, has been an outstanding performer in the instruction design role for the last couple of years with the happy go lucky attitude to life. He has taken initiatives to design and launch new programs in the company

Currently, he has withdrawn in to the shell post the pandemic. The constant late night calls and increased projects and deadlines to move to an online mode has only increased the stress internally.?The team members have also been left in the lurch as they have been looking for direction from the lead.

Rewind in to last June, Melisa has taken over the company role as the head of International distribution. She has been heading states in the earlier role and moved to heading a region.

Melisa was thrown in to the effects of the pandemic and the need to perform in the new role. The requirements for increasing the pace and delivering products has only resulted in frustrations through remote management

During a recent conversation to build the team the case has opened a Pandora box of the challenges post the work from home concepts.

Supporting people to understand the differences in each of their approach has helped move the members to being a one team.

Insights:

The drive to perform in the role and also to bring new products to market have thrust Melisa to drive the team harder

Melisa strengths: new ideas, approaches, and defining new opportunities.

The advantage of seeing the big picture and defining the risks that are worth taking would also have helped transmit opportunities and visions to the team.

However, realizing that all the members of the team does not maintain the same energy and passion for the project has helped Melisa to understand the team dynamics.

Satish, on the other hand, being a person looking for precision and complete project presentation have been left short in this scenario.

Enabling Satish to understand the different behavioural styles and the expectations to pick up pace on some of the projects have resulted in better outputs

The need to adjust to the market demands have empowered Satish to taking up a more open approach to the role and the increased performance
