A while ago, I shared an article about the Sales Coaches that support the development of the Sales teams in my department. I shared my thoughts on how valuable I thought they were, and how their attitude and approach to their roles has resulted in noticeable gains.
The small but perfectly formed team of 2 were nominated and shortlisted in the People Development Heroes category in The North East Contact Centre awards, and the awards were presented on 2nd February.
I am delighted and proud to say that the team won the award against some very high quality competition and you can see their winning moment on the @NEContactAwards on Twitter along with all of the other winners and runners up from the evening.
The team showed that by looking outside of their day to day role they can make their mark in many areas of the business. They supported Sales Skills training in our Customer Service teams, and have both been pivotal in delivering the Sales Apprentice programme this year under sometimes challenging circumstances. They are now well known across Sage for their exercise in ensuring everyone understands how to signpost with customers. They start a conversation, and then without warning ask the agents to get up and follow them around the building. Confusion ensues, and then they explain the purpose. The group they are working with never forget to signpost after that.
Health & Well being is a major focus in the business and as part of the Employee engagement team they have arranged complimentary 3 day guest passes to the spa area of a local health club and also some relaxation classes such as yoga etc. They have also reached out to 20 therapists in Newcastle to provide complimentary stress busting treatments such as reflexology, head massage etc in return for handing out business cards to gain interest. They are liaising with our procurement team to look at funding for other activities such as fruit desk drops.
