The People Centered Sales Lead

Gilbert Nsamba is a warm-hearted, soft spoken sales expert with a contagious aura. This might seem opposite to the perceived cut throat environment of sales, but Gilbert has proven that a warm, fair but firm approach is a winning formula when it comes to building a team and winning customers.?Sales is after all, everything to do with building strong working relationships.

Gilbert is nothing short of a friend to everyone and leaves a lasting impression on the people that have had the opportunity to spend time with him, both socially and professionally. Gilbert joined Infobwana in September of 2009. One of the first to join the team, he served as a Sales Executive for four years before becoming Sales Manager. He led by example right up to his exit this year, passing his selfless work ethic to the rest of the team.?

He has enjoyed working and interacting with inspirational clients, proudly representing the Bwana brand and growing with the company whilst managing change as the company evolved to bigger and better things.

Despite starting a new chapter in his career, Gilbert praises the company for being a dependable information hub for Zambian businesses. “It is the only website that has current information. A lot? of websites are not updated. You could find a phone number listed on the site and it is not in use, but with Infobwana, the site always has up to date information”, Gilbert says.?

As a people centered leader, Gilbert has a message for young people about how they can contribute to the betterment of the country, simply by taking ownership. “Young people need to realise that they are in charge of their own destiny. The Government and local companies can only provide an enabling environment. The rest needs to come from them.”

Gilbert is also a passionate “foodie” who’s favourite meal is T-bone served with fries. “I love this combination but lately I’m on an enforced low carb diet so I really miss my favorite meal!”, Gilbert chuckles. When he’s not being a father, husband and foodie, Gilbert also enjoys spending his free time reading and keeping abreast of the news.?

So, what’s next for our former sales backbone? Gilbert intends to spread his expertise and branch off into another industry to serve in pastures new.
