Kipp first joined PEO IWS as the Major Program Manager (MPM) of the Small Surface Combatant Integrated Combat System, IWS 8.0. In June 2021, he was handpicked to simultaneously lead IWS 10.0, the Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) Integrated Combat System. As a testament?to his exceptional leadership, he led the merger of these two disparate program offices to create IWS 80 in 2022.????

?

Kipp was recognized as a premier leader within PEO IWS. His work ethic, knowledge of ships, combat systems, and the Fleet is unrivaled as is his dedication to his team, and leadership across the portfolio. Over the years, his leadership significantly impacted Fleet readiness and warfighting capability of Naval Forces.?

?

In leaving PEO IWS 80 and relinquishing command to Hoffman, Kipp stated, “this opportunity to work with a team of combat systems professionals to drive not just programmatic change, but cultural and organizational change is something that I could have not anticipated when the cards were dealt. I have been challenged like never before in my career and I am eternally grateful. Atalanta – I am humbled and amazed at all you do every day to move the needle; keep pressing, I will be watching your future successes.”??

?

Capt. Hoffman most recently served as the commanding officer of Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division (NSWC PHD), where he led more than 2,600 Sailors, Navy civilians, and contractors, supporting the U.S. Navy, Department of Defense stakeholders, and allied forces to ensure combat readiness and effectiveness for the Fleet and warfighter.??

?

In his assumption of command comments, Hoffman made clear his pledge to continue the excellence of PEO IWS 80. “Thank you, Rear Adm. Okano for this opportunity, I appreciate the confidence you have shown in me to continue IWS 80 on the ascent and I am excited to be part of the journey.”?
