And the pendulum swings

Bob looks out of the rich brown teak

Peeking out to catch the first glimpse of the world through a glass

With his potential at the peak

Jumps with confidence into motion to show his valor to the world but alas

The world looks right back into his unversed eyes and says, we have seen many a Bob...

Away runs Bob, now aware he needs more than just brawn, to his mentor in the dark who

whispers in his ears the wise words - show them not what you have, ask them what they want to have...

Looking back at the guru with credence, Bob jumps right back into the light with tact anew

Asks the world brazenly - "what do you want" but to his surprise, he gets just a glare askance

Swings back Bob in shame to his home and sits in despair

With a glass of rum and an air of gloom and asks his heavyset father - will I ever be what I can

The father pats Bob on shoulder and pushes back to square

Says your mentor gave the mantra but the chant you need to find yourself, if you can

Picking up what's left of his pride, Bob readies himself...

Goes to the front to give his best again and again;

Until one day he comes back to Pop and says - "Today I made a lot of hay!"

Pop with a wry smile just pushed him back and said - "Tomorrow is another day..."

And so the pendulum swings again and again...
