The Pendulum Swings back

When things change it disrupts the current system and priorities in favor of other priorities. There are winners and losers as systems and technologies bring new and exciting opportunities to us all.

For example We have come from a single rotary phone per house to everyone having a personal communication device in our pockets. Unimaginable 60 years ago. These devices have many positive benefits to society and an equal about of disadvantages.

We also had perhaps the worst possible reaction to the pandemic (lock down the economy) which we will continue to pay for over the next decade. We survived the mistaken policies of a few leaders which set the stage for change.

Our government is constantly in flux, changing priorities and trying to balance the needs of our expanding population, increased life expectancy, and reacting to the world around us which is also experiencing significant change.

Our history is a constant reminder of change and the impacts it has had on our lives. Mostly for the better. Read some history for context.

The great thing about this country is that we can choose our leaders every two years and President every 4 years. And we do make changes.

With every change of direction the pundits (opponents) predict collapse and financial ruin. The financial product sales organizations come up with solutions to your fears and their pocketbooks. They are swarming the internet with their fear mongering and promises if only you ............

When I was first licensed in the financial industry the Dow Jones average was 832. Today it is 44,507. Do the math.

Many tech stocks continue to generate unimaginable profits as they bring new and improved applications to market. Several Analysts downgraded Apple a week before the earning announcement and they were/are WRONG.

Whatever your personal political views are do not let them dictate your long term financial investment plans. Owning high quality stocks (not all stocks) has worked for 100 years and will likely work for the next 100 years.

Have a great day

This is great perspective and a much needed reminder to "keep calm and carry on!"
