UN member states, despite strong opposition from human rights activists and tech companies concerned about potential surveillance abuses, have approved their first-ever treaty targeting cybercrime including offenses like child sexual abuse imagery and money laundering. ?The adopted text stipulates that, in investigating any crime punishable by a minimum of four years' imprisonment under national law, a member state may ask the authorities of another country for any electronic evidence linked to the crime, and also request data from an internet service provider.
Ghanaians are urged to resist attempts by any institution to photocopy their Ghana Card for transactions or avoid sharing digital copies of their Ghana Card as improper use of the Ghana Card can lead to fraud and identity theft. Instead, they should ensure institutions verify the card according to National Identification Authority (NIA) guidelines. Moses Baiden, CEO of Margins ID Group emphasized during a visit by the Ministry of Communications and its agencies to observe the Ghana Card production process.

Medium has expanded its Writer Payment Partner Program to 20 African nations including Ghana. This program allows writers to earn money based on the engagement and activity their stories receive from Medium members. The expansion aims to bring diverse perspectives to the platform and deepen global understanding through a wider range of voices. Medium currently has over 100 million monthly readers.
QNET, an e-commerce-driven business has launched a six-month anti-scam campaign to combat the persistent misconceptions about QNET in Ghana created by individuals who have been exploiting the brand name for illegal activities such as deceiving people with false promises of jobs or travel opportunities abroad.
QNET urges Ghanaians to report suspicious activities via WhatsApp or email as ?they educate the public through various media channels about fraudulent activities misusing the QNET name.
