Pelvic endometriosis. Sarcoidosis. Endometriosis excision. Pelvic lymphadenectomy. Video.
Dr. Gabriel MITROI
Gynecologic/Robotic Surgeon at Life Memorial Hospital - Medlife
Below is presented a case of pelvic endometriosis associated with bulky ilio-obturator lymphadenopathy on the right side - cause still unknown at the time of surgery.
The patient had previously undergone a neck lymph node biopsy (at another surgical center) that diagnosed sarcoidosis suspicion.
The patient presented before surgery, in addition to pelvic pain specific to endometriosis, and pain in the right pelvic limb (right leg), as well as walking disorders due to nerve compression in the area of the obturatory nerve.
The surgery had both a diagnostic goal, by performing an ilio-obturator lymphadenectomy (biopsy), and a curative one by performing excision of the endometriotic lesions and decompression of the obturatory nerve. Postoperatively, the diagnosis of sarcoidosis was confirmed histopathologically.
Patient had a favorable evolution with a significant improvement of pain and the disappearance of walking disorder, and is still in the postop recovery period (currently there are about 2 months after surgery).
