Peering Into the Future of Training with Apple Vision Pro

Wow. There are very few things that make me speechless, but Apple Vision Pro is one. My advice? Don't hesitate to schedule a demo.
What stands out most about Apple Vision Pro is how wrong everyone else seems to be about it. Most people I see are focusing on using it for productivity. It's not that. AVP is experiential computing. The term "immersive" falls short in describing the journey this computer takes you on. It is unique.
I didn't get an opportunity to try augmented reality tools like Jigspace, often hailed as the best use-case for using AR in training. Jigspace introduces virtual 3D models into your real-world space, to help understand how the item works. That will be valuable, to be sure, but AVP could be so much more. In my mind, soft skills training will be where it really shines.

Describing AVP to someone who hasn't experienced it is...challenging. It's more than immersive; it's a gateway to the emotions unexplored by any other device. The immersive world of AVP vastly outpaces even its own attempts at augmented reality. Whether encountering a 3D rhinoceros, gazing at a high definition still image of Iceland, or reliving someone else's personal memories in spatial video, you feel totally present. This is where Apple Vision Pro shines.
Which brings me back to training. For me, the killer app is creating lifelike scenarios to foster soft skills. Picture being in a hospital room, facing a grieving family member who is expressing their frustration to teach de-escalation. Or experiencing the world through the eyes and ears of someone with vision impairment and hearing loss, offering a window into the challenges faced by seniors.
The device isn't without its flaws. I found it uncomfortable, pressing tight against my head while slipping down my face. In 30 minutes I still needed help moving and resizing windows. Some features didn't resonate with me as intended. And yet, the experience was transformative, beckoning me to return. With a $4000 price tag, my return flight has been delayed.
