Peer-2-Peer Workshop Model
Rob Wotton, MBA
Dedicated to the Success of Businesses and Communities across Snoqualmie Valley.
There were two things I valued as a small business owner.
First, try something. You learn by trial-and-error. Hopefully the losses were minimal but if you succeeded, the upside was far better than the cost.
Second, learn by sharing with other business owners. For a number of years, I owned an independent retail clothing and shoe store. Several times a year I attended markets buying inventory for upcoming seasons. The highlight was meeting at the end of the first day with other business owners to share what we had found. The next market day we could take action for our businesses based on this new information. We also had retreats to discuss other business matters we all faced.
This is the concept behind The Business Workshop @ Umpqua.
I want to provide a monthly forum where business owners can come together and discuss what worked for them. As you are busy enough, the Workshop must be fast-paced and relevant. Rather than having a keynote speaker, it will be a roundtable discussion focused on a topic. The discussion will be led by collaborators sharing their experiences.
Our Workshop series starts April 1 focusing on eMarketing.
It will be about building better websites and using social media to drive more business to your bottom line. You are welcome to bring your own lunch, we'll provide the coffee, tea and refreshments, and stay afterwards as long as you like.
