“I love getting out on the trails in particular. I love watching the landscapes change with the seasons. I am very lucky to live in a village on the outskirts of St Albans where there are countless stunning trails, including the Hertfordshire Way and the Ver Valley Trail. The annual Pedometer Challenge shines a light on a healthy lifestyle and a healthy mind and there is so much springtime beauty to be enjoyed at this time of year just by stepping outside at a weekend, on your lunch break or before or after work, so find some comfy shoes or trainers and get out there!” Johanna Houlahan, RSK Geosciences Principal Geoenvironmental Consultant?

“The Pedometer Challenge has encouraged me to stay active, even though the summer temperatures in Abu Dhabi are getting very high (37 degrees plus). I have been mostly walking early in the morning with one of my horses or late in the evening, which has given me an opportunity to explore new places on foot close to my home, which I would have traditionally driven right past.” Rachael Ryder, RSK Environment General Manager?

“[My] motivation to exercise has been less, owing to the biggest wave of COVID-19 infections in the past few months. As restrictions are gradually easing, the Pedometer Challenge has come at a perfect time for me to build up my running mileage to prepare for the coming racing events. It feels so good to run on trails, as I can temporarily escape and find happiness through exercise, sweating and muscle soreness.” Andrea Tang, Binnies Hong Kong Communications Manager?

“The step challenge has helped us make a conscious change to the dog walking trails that we usually do around our local area, seeking out new and interesting walks with beautiful scenery, right from our doorstep. My birthday fell on week four of the challenge, and we designed an eight-mile walk around some local village cafes for breakfast, lunch and birthday cake. Don’t think we earned all of the food, but we certainly got our steps in!” Kimberley Henry, RSK Group Senior Finance Analyst?

“I like jogging along the seafront at the back of my living place every day to try to keep fit and get some sweating. With the encouragement of the Pedometer Challenge and the motivation of teamwork, I am delighted to notice that I have gradually doubled my daily output from 9000 to 18,000 steps.” Raymond Kok, Resident Engineer, Binnies Hong Kong?
