Pediatric Physician - Division Head Infectious Disease

The University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria, Department of Pediatrics, is seeking academic physicians for a position in our Division of Infectious Disease to serve as Division Head of the Division.?Proven excellence in clinical care and teaching are necessary to join our active, growing program.?Research interests are encouraged.
An outstanding opportunity exists to immediately assume a leadership role as UICOMP Division Head of Pediatric Infectious Disease.?This position requires Board certification in Pediatrics and Pediatric Infectious Disease. This physician is responsible for the overall operation of the division so that, as a whole, the division supports the mission of UICOMP, CHOI, including education, clinical services, research and other scholarly activity, and advocacy.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead the development of a Division of Pediatric Infectious Disease.
- Establish and maintain effective education programs in Pediatric Infectious Disease for medical students and residents. Collaborate with other faculty in maintaining excellence in general pediatric education.
- Stimulate and nurture scholarly activity within the Division. Establish an area of research interest and academic activity.
- Maintain a clinical service program to meet regional needs. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide a full spectrum of Infectious Disease.
Infectious Disease Pediatricians require candidates who are BC/BE in pediatrics and pediatric infectious disease and have completed 3 years in residence and 3 years in fellowship training in pediatric infectious disease.

Minimum Qualifications
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in Illinois.
- Board Certified in Pediatric Infectious Disease.
- Board Certified in Pediatrics.
- Proven Track Record of professional leadership roles in an academic institution.
- Academic Rank of Associate or full Professor.
