Pediatric Cardiologist Elected Vice President of Fairfield County Medical Association

Board-Certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology Raymond Lorenzoni III, MD

Ray Lorenzoni III, MD has been elected vice president of the board of trustees of the Fairfield County Medical Association (FCMA) at its annual meeting on October 30, 2024. Professionally, Dr. Lorenzoni is an attending physician at Connecticut Children's and cares for patients at their Westport and Hartford, CT campuses. His medical training took place in New York City and Los Angeles, and he chose to return to Connecticut to practice. He was born and raised in Fairfield County and currently lives with his family in Woodbridge. He will now help lead the FCMA, a physician organization of nearly 1,000 physician members which he hopes to grow in size and influence.?

"As Vice President of the Fairfield County Medical Association, I am deeply committed to our community and will work hard to support Fairfield physicians who are providing the care our patients deserve," said Dr. Lorenzoni, adding, "Together we will advocate for policies that prioritize patient health by ensuring physicians have more of the resources that they need, both professional and social."

Founded in 1792 by a Special Act of the Connecticut General Assembly , the purpose of the Fairfield County Medical Association is to organize the doctors of medicine of Fairfield County, Connecticut, to protect the art and science of medicine, to enlighten the public in matters of health, and to promote the health of the community.

“Dr. Lorenzoni’s expertise caring for pediatric and adult congenital cardiology patients and his prior leadership and innovation within several state and national medical societies make him an invaluable asset to the Fairfield County Medical Association,” stated John Brannelly, FCMA Executive Director, “Dr. Lorenzoni’s dedication to clinical education and health policy will be an incredible resource as we continue to advocate for the highest standards of care."

FCMA offers a wide range of services to its nearly 1,000 physician members, including legal assistance, practice management, professional networking, and legislative advocacy. Additionally, FCMA provides opportunities for continuing education, shared communication, and access to exclusive discounts with industry experts.

Other officers of Fairfield County Medical Association elected at the annual meeting were President Joe Feuerstein , MD; Secretary Andrew Wong , MD; Treasurer Craig H. Olin, MD FACP MBA ; and Immediate Past President Camelia Lawrence, MD, FACS .


More about Dr. Lorenzoni

Dr. Ray Lorenzoni was born and raised in Connecticut and is proud to care for patients at Connecticut Children’s Heart Center. He was trained to provide high-quality healthcare for families requiring pediatric and adult congenital cardiology and advanced cardiac imaging at Children’s Hospital at Montefiore and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles , respectively. He graduated with Honors as a double major in Molecular & Cell Biology and Chemistry and received his Doctorate of Medicine both from the University of Connecticut .

Dr. Lorenzoni is board-certified in pediatrics and pediatric cardiology. He is an active member of the Connecticut State Medical Society, American Medical Association, and the Society of Pediatric Echocardiography, and belongs to the American Society of Echocardiography, Society of Cardiac Magnetic Resonance, and the American Heart Association.

His research interests include 3D cardiac visualization of pediatric and adult congenital heart disease, fetal cardiology, and the clinical education of future physicians. He has received multiple research grants for his work and established a collaboration with Microscape, Inc. to advance the field of 3D and 4D cardiac fusion imaging and pre-surgical planning with their Cardioscape software.
