Carmel Mission classic: A smaller event on Wednesday to start the day, but very often they manage to get a few special cars.
The Little Car Show: Mainly concentrating on smaller cars and small engines but always a fun trip. It is a free event and parking in the neighbourhood is pretty easy to find. Combine with a little walk to the ocean and enjoy some great sea breeze.
Concours d'LeMons, the most funny and crazy carshow you could imagine. Head out early and see the cars arrive. After that you could go to Concorso Italiano:
Including a little video of this crazy Honda: https://www.facebook.com/cccaw/videos/1207618639344532/
Concorso Italiano. The dream place for Italian car lovers. Discover a mix of the finest Italian cars and see some other cars at the end of the showfield.
The Quail, a motorsport gathering. For sure this event is more a lifestyle event and about seeing and be seen but they do have a great selection of cars on the showfield.
A very interesting place to meet car people, enjoy some great food and see some cars.

The Quail rally: an exclusive rally to start the automotive week. Most of the cars will also be presented at the Quail later that week.
The Pebble Beach Rolex rally is the perfect spot to meet the owners and see the cars depart. You could first watch the start and then continue to discover more cars at the Gooding Auction tent.
After lunch, the cars will arrive back at the same spot.
Enjoy this little video of the arrival:

Pebble Beach Concours D’Elegance: Sundays meeting after a busy week. Everybody gets up really early to get a hat or a coffee with donuts and waits for the sun to appear.
It is worth to stay around until after the podium show as the sun very often has made the clouds disappear and the show winners are presented next to the ocean for some great shots.
70 Years Ferrari: Ferrari USA did a great job in collecting a remarkable line-up next to Casa Ferrari.
Concept Lawn: Every year the automotive industry likes to show their new toys at Pebble Beach. Next to the snowfield you can admire these next generation cars.
Multiple auction houses have their sales during the Monterey Car Week. I’ve picked a few to visit while I was around:

Chantilly France: A real concours D’Elegance by Peter Auto. A mix of cars and clothing design. The prototypes will parade with a model to show the new design of bodywork and fashion.
This year the event also announced the start of the Mercedes SLR club and they had a big line-up for the presentation.
After Chantilly I had a meeting with the World Forum for Motor Museums on the 2018 Conference and I’ve added a few stops.
British Motor Museum: BMM is located on the grounds of Jaguar Land Rover. 2 years ago I did my first visit and it was very nice to see how the improved the exhibitions last year.
Enjoy your virtual visit.
Next to the BMM you could find the storage of the Jaguar Heritage Trust. They are developing the museum and by next year World Forum visit it will look more like a museum than just a warehouse of prototypes and special vehicules.
JHT also offers the cars for loan to dealers and museums. They have a permanent exhibition at BMM and Coventry Transport Museum.
Next to that, they offer research and certification to the cars.
I guess Jim Stokes is for many of you a very familiar name and his workshop has done work on the most amazing cars around the world.
The shop has different companies and they could do almost everything in house. With a worldwide clientele of high-end and less high-end cars they are frequent selection for many collectors.
I received a tour true the facilities from Jim and met with a few of the people in the shop. An amazing facility with some great cars.
On my way back to Gaydon, I’ve added a stop to the shop of Keith Bowley in Ashton Keynes. I’ve met Keith during the Concours D’Elegance Swiss where he was a jury member.
During the judges meeting he had told a few interesting things about preservation. We have seen each other again at Pebble and Chantilly and he invited me to have a look at the shop.
Next to the restauration shop they have an engine shop where they could do different types of work. They also work for other restauration shops.

When you are only 15 minutes away from the Aston Martin HQ it would be rude not to visit them. A great short visit to discover more about the factory and the heritage of Aston Martin.
Visits are often aranged true the local dealer but they do offer group visits that sell out very fast.
Currently we are having a look to see if we could offer a group visit on the Monday before the 2018 World Forum for Motor Museums will start in September.
Bugatti Trust: After visiting one of the workshops they have told me about the Bugatti Trust and I’ve decided to add a last minute visit to this place to meet the people from the trust.
They have a very interesting archive and a wonderful little museum. A must for any Bugatti fan I would say: https://bugatti-trust.co.uk
The museums is located next to the Prescott Speed Hill Climb and the Bugatti Owner Club: https://bugatti.co.uk
A few times a year they have some very interesting events to attend.
Last visit of the Friday, a stop at Aston Martin Heritage Trust and the Aston Martin Owners Club. The museum is housing a mix of cars and objects.
The trust has more cars than they could show and they are looking for a new location for the museum, the trust and the owners club.
Often they change the displays of the cars.
At Aston Martin HQ the main focus is currently on new cars off course and they work very close with AMHT. The trust is safekeeping the history of the company and helping owners on research on their cars.
In case you wish any more info on any of the visits or show, just shoot message and I’m happy to reply.
