Pearls & Marina's Dev't Red Flags!

During my visit at Pearl Island in Qatar, at first it was mind blowing! Pearl Island is one of these luxury projects contributing to the new Qatar impression. However, I noticed its social spaces lack social interaction, cohesion and vibrancy; thus, the space is less attractive except to a select group of people. As a visitor, it was quick to notice the absence of social activities in the area, which reduces the liveability of the place.

It is my hope that future global developments mirroring the pearl development will focus on sociability space optimization through various interventions. Measures to improve social comfort including shading devices and limiting vehicular access would also help achieve the goal.
