Peanuts are Little Powerhouses

Peanuts were once thought to be "fattening" and high in calories. "If you want to watch your figure don't eat too many of them" - a run-of-the-mill saying for a long time. Advice such as "Only eat a handful of nuts a day" sounds rather strange. "As many as that!" or "too many calories" is what some may think.
?
However, scientific studies have now shown that nuts, whether peanuts, walnuts, almonds, or cashews, are by no means to be overlooked. They have a positive influence on blood lipid levels, have a favorable impact on cholesterol levels and can protect against the onset of diabetes or cardiovascular disease. Scientists are currently researching which specific nutrients are responsible for these favorable effects.
?
They contain lots of good fats.
The fact is that all nuts contain fat - on average between 35-70%. This means that 100 grams of nuts provide the same amount of fat as 6 tablespoons of butter. Yes, they do! Way too much fat, surely, they can't help you lose weight? Or can they? Yes, they can! Because, unlike butter, the fat from nuts and seeds is made up of a high proportion of valuable unsaturated fatty acids. Peanuts mainly contain omega-6 fatty acids, which are important for soft and supple skin, among other things.
?
Peanuts also make us happy.
Peanuts are very nutritious due to their high fiber and protein content. It is important to emphasize the essential amino acid tryptophan, which is necessary for the body to produce serotonin and promote restful and peaceful sleep.

Resveratrol, a secondary plant substance found in the thin brown seed coat surrounding peanuts, is primarily known for its presence in grapes.
Resveratrol is a powerful antioxidant. It intercepts cell-damaging free radicals and renders them harmless so that they cannot attack other substances. Resveratrol can also activate the body's enzymes, known as sirtuins, which stimulate genes that regulate fat metabolism. This has been successfully demonstrated in a series of experiments on mice. The animals were fed a particularly high-fat diet, while at the same time, high levels of resveratrol were added to their food. The mice gained less weight and much more slowly, compared to the control group. At the same time, they became more active.
Therefore, peanuts with the skin should be favored over the less recommended salted peanuts roasted in additional fat.
