Please STOP giving solid nuts (or nut fragments) to children under 3 years of age.
A small amount of smooth peanut butter is much less risky, in terms of choking!

Because multiple news agencies have once again published articles about peanut allergy prevention for babies (FEATURING images of solid nuts), the medical community must illustrate the facts about foreign body aspiration. PLEASE share this post globally!

5 年THANKYOU Jeffrey! We were always taught not to give nuts to children under 5 due to the choking hazard and I have been alarmed that many young parents no longer heed this information. You only need see one peanut induced lung abscess to know how important this is. Keep spreading the word!

8 年Any nuts like almonds, cashews, peanuts are hazardous more so in moving vehicles where jerks and bumps on the roads make the child very prone to accidentally inhale the fragments.
