A Peek Behind the AM Case Study
Webinars have become the norm for how business reaches out to audiences in 2020. Additive Manufacturing presentations on amazing Case Studies are almost a daily occurrence.
Have we hit “Peak Webinar”?
Working with John Croft and the AM Hub we set out to do something different. We wanted to step back from the Case Study and look at how the Application evolved AND take a further step back to look at the business. The question we tried to answer was “Does This Make Sense”. Not only does the application makes sense BUT does 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing make sense to my business.
Our first webinar (Lean Adoption Methodology) looked at the business and coupled this with Lean Thinking – aligning Customer requirements, adding value and removing waste. The 2nd (Part Selection Review and Ideation) and 3rd sessions (Design and Packaging Strategies) introduced a funneling process based on the board game Monopoly – we called Partopoly. We showed how to breakdown an everyday item (cordless drill) and modify it to suit AM.
