PeacheyPublications - Edtech & ELT Newsletter Feb 7th
Welcome to the first newsletter of 2023.
I know it’s been a while since I last managed to get one of these newsletters published. It seems there has been almost too much going on over the last few months. Each time I get started, the world seems to shift.
Anyway, this newsletter is dedicated to ChatGPT and other AI tools, as that seems to be the hot topic at the moment.
I hope you find these useful.
The Digital Toolbox
If you would like an easy way to access more than 120 various apps with video tutorials as well as a collection of articles that are regularly updated, then check out my Digital Toolbox App.
ChatGPT
This is the new AI software that everyone is talking about. It’s a chatbot that can answer questions, write articles and summaries, create stories and even write code. You can sign up for free when they have space.
Character AI
This site has a collection of chatbots built on information about the experiences of real and fictional people. Your students can log in for free and chat with AI versions of films stars, historical characters and even cartoon characters. You can have a great chat with Plato.
ChatGPT for Search Engines
This is another free browser extension. This one allows you to add ChatGPT results to your searches. This can help to add a valuable layer of information on any search.

GPT Resumes
This site has a collection of over 1000 resumes/CVs from all types of famous people. The resumes have been generated using ChatGPT. This is great content for students to do fact checking or as models for their own resume. The video below shows how to use ChatGPT to produce a resume and cover letter.
Animate from Audio
This is a nice tool from Adobe. Students can choose from a selection of cartoon characters and then add their own audio to the character to make them speak. These can be exported as video. Great for simple speaking activities.
QuestGen
This is an AI supported question generator. You just add your text, and it will produce different types of questions for the text. You can even create a set of questions that are each level of Bloom's Taxonomy.
DetectGPT
This is a free Chrome extension that claims to be able to spot 90 of content created by ChatGPT. It’s so popular the site may have crashed when you get there, but stick with it.
Lastly, an interesting video from Russell Stannard on ChatGPT
Thanks for reading, and I hope you found these tools useful.
Please also check out my catalogue of books and lesson materials, and hopefully the next newsletter will be available in a couple of weeks. PeacheyPublications Catalogue
