A Decade of Achievements: The Peace Museum Vienna is a little piece of Real estate that has brought hope in difficult times. Please join our Peace Movement and come and meet us in Vienna June 4th 2024.
My sister Liska Blodgett and I started this museum when we were in Vienna as investors and developers from 2007. We wanted to create a Peace Museum in one of our developement projects near the Museum Quarters, we didn't get the deal but we kept our inspiration to create this museum. So with a very small piece of real estate we went a long way for peace.
Vienna has a United Nations office so we were in the right city where many peace treaties were signed during the past 100 years.
The Peace Museum Vienna, established in 2014, has spent the last decade fostering peace, promoting human rights, and educating the public on the importance of non-violence.
Through a variety of initiatives, exhibitions, and events, the museum has made significant strides in its mission to inspire a culture of peace. This article highlights the key accomplishments of the Peace Museum Vienna over its ten-year journey.
Today we have introduced our Peace Heroes Windows to over 1 million tourist during these past 10 years as the museum is located just 100 yards aways from Mozarts house.
It also has become a 5 star tourist destination in Vienna on Trip advisor
It has definitely been an adventure, and we realized that even with a very small space, you can create great hope.
We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all our interns from around the world who have been dedicated their time to creating peace.

Founding and Early Years and Establishing a Vision
The Peace Museum Vienna was founded by a group of motivated individuals, driven by a shared vision of creating a space dedicated to peace education and the commemoration of peace-builders. From its inception, the museum set out to educate visitors about the importance of peace, human rights, and the efforts of individuals who have made significant contributions to these causes.
The early years focused on establishing the museum's identity and building a foundation for its future activities. The founders worked tirelessly to curate exhibitions that showcased historical and contemporary figures dedicated to peace. This initial period was crucial for setting the tone and direction of the museum’s programs and outreach efforts.
Major Exhibitions and Installations
Celebrating Peace-builders
One of the hallmark achievements of the Peace Museum Vienna is its series of exhibitions celebrating peace-builders from around the world. These exhibitions have featured notable figures such as Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr., and Malala Yousafzai. By highlighting their lives and contributions, the museum has provided visitors with powerful examples of how individuals can influence global peace and justice.
The "Peace Heros" exhibition is particularly noteworthy. This interactive display includes portraits and stories of over 200 peace activists, providing an immersive experience that encourages visitors to reflect on the diverse paths to peace. The exhibition has been praised for its educational value and its ability to inspire visitors to become peace advocates in their own lives.
Educational Programs and Workshops and Engaging the Communities

Education is at the heart of the Peace Museum Vienna’s mission. Over the past decade, the museum has developed a range of educational programs and workshops designed to engage diverse audiences, from schoolchildren to adults. These programs aim to raise awareness about peace and human rights issues and to equip participants with the tools to promote non-violence in their communities.
Additionally, the museum has hosted numerous seminars and lectures featuring prominent peace activists and scholars. These events provide a platform for dialogue and the exchange of ideas, fostering a deeper understanding of the complexities of peacebuilding.
Collaborative Projects and Partnerships
Building a Global Peace Network
The Peace Museum Vienna has also made significant strides through its collaborative projects and partnerships. By working with other peace organizations, educational institutions, and cultural centers, the museum has extended its reach and impact. These collaborations have resulted in joint exhibitions, international conferences, and cross-cultural exchanges that enrich the museum’s offerings.
One notable partnership is with the International Network of Museums for Peace (INMP). This collaboration has enabled the Peace Museum Vienna to participate in global initiatives and share best practices with other peace museums worldwide. Through this network, the museum has contributed to a broader movement advocating for peace and non-violence.
Advocacy and Public Awareness Campaigns
Promoting Human Rights
Beyond its exhibitions and educational programs, the Peace Museum Vienna has actively engaged in advocacy and public awareness campaigns. These efforts are aimed at addressing contemporary issues such as refugee rights, gender equality, and environmental sustainability. The museum uses its platform to amplify the voices of marginalized communities and to promote policies that support peace and justice.
Through multimedia exhibitions, public talks, and social media campaigns, the museum has raised awareness about the plight of refugees and advocated for compassionate and humane policies.
A Decade of Impact and Looking Forward to you joining us
As the Peace Museum Vienna celebrates its tenth anniversary, it reflects on a decade filled with impactful initiatives, meaningful collaborations, and a steadfast commitment to promoting peace and human rights. The museum’s accomplishments are a testament to the power of education, advocacy, and community engagement in building a more peaceful world.
Looking forward, the Peace Museum Vienna aims to expand its reach and continue its mission with renewed vigor. Future plans include developing more digital content to reach a global audience, enhancing its educational programs, and deepening its partnerships with other peace-oriented organizations.
In conclusion, the Peace Museum Vienna stands as a beacon of hope and a vital institution in the global peace movement. 4 周Hi! I was honored to have a window and interior display of my work in time for the June anniversary exhibition. I had worked with an intern since April, and because of several changes in interns, I got lost in the shuffle. Liska tells me that my work was exhibited, but if so, it was not displayed on social media and I am eager to see how it turned out (and curious why It was hidden). I am getting unclear information as to whether it was taken down because of the museum’s move to Paris. I was honored to be involved, but have no idea if my work is still up and why it wasn’t displayed. No one from the IG account is answering after repeated attempts to communicate. I would be so grateful for clarity and to know that my work with the museum since April hasn’t been for naught, or taken down because of the Paris move (that’s my impresssion from Liska. Can you please arrange to message me photos and ensure my exhibit is on social media? Here is a snapshot mockup of the window display.
