PE-TM Approval & Chain Binding on MTNL DLT Portal

PE-TM Approval & Chain Binding on MTNL DLT Portal

The PE-TM (Principal Entity and Telemarketer) Approval and Chain Binding process on the MTNL DLT (Distributed Ledger Technology) portal is a critical requirement for SMS communications in India, mandated by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). This process ensures that all entities involved in sending messages are properly registered and traceable, enhancing accountability and reducing unsolicited communications.

Overview of PE-TM Binding Chain

The PE-TM Binding Chain consists of several key components:

  • Principal Entity (PE): The organization sending the messages.
  • Telemarketer (TM): The entity responsible for delivering the messages.
  • Telecom Service Provider (TSP): Companies like MTNL, Jio, Airtel, etc., that facilitate message delivery.

From?November 1, 2024, it is mandatory for all Principal Entities to have their Telemarketers clearly defined on the DLT portal. Failure to comply will result in message rejections

Steps for PE-TM Binding on MTNL DLT Portal

To complete the PE-TM binding process on the MTNL DLT portal, follow these steps:

  1. Login: Access your MTNL DLT portal account.
  2. Navigate to PE-TM Chain: Find and click on the “PE-TM Chain” or “Manage Telemarketer” section.
  3. Create New Chain: Select “New Chain” to initiate the binding process.
  4. Enter Telemarketer ID: Input the Telemarketer ID associated with your service provider (for example, MySmsMantra has an ID of 1102461800000042573).
  5. Submit Request: After entering the necessary details, click “Submit.” The status will initially show as “Pending.”
  6. Documentation: Take a screenshot of this pending status. You will need to submit this along with proof of business registration and address verification for the authorized representative.
  7. Approval Process: Once submitted, wait for the telemarketer's approval. After approval, you must request final confirmation on the DLT portal

Important Considerations

  • Registration Deadline: Ensure all registrations are completed before November 1, 2024, to avoid disruptions in message delivery.
  • Data Privacy and Security: The DLT system is designed to enhance data privacy by eliminating unregistered telemarketers and ensuring customer consent is recorded digitally
  • Traceability: All communications sent through registered telemarketers will be traceable, providing transparency in SMS marketing practices

By adhering to these guidelines and completing the binding process, organizations can ensure compliance with TRAI regulations and maintain effective communication channels with their customers.
