Welcome to the June edition of the PDR Post. This monthly newsletter will keep you updated on all things PDR Rework. The first half of 2024 has been fantastic, and we're eagerly anticipating continuing to support our PDR partners throughout the rest of the year.
Our June newsletter focuses on PDR's unique heating and placement technology.
PDR Heating Technology, utilising Focused Infrared
To produce the maximum yield you have to follow the same rules as you would with a reflow oven. We achieve this with a combination of Focused IR and Medium Wave IR. Focused IR 30-40% from the top, and Medium Wave IR 60-70% from below.
Our Focused Infrared is the only visible heating technology on the market, meaning no guess work. Unbeatable and repeatable temperature profiles, with no time lag. Our Quartz Medium IR Heaters pre heat the board, which prevents delamination and thermal shock to the component.
With Closed Loop Control, our system measures and controls the component and board temperature independently, which enables you to produce the best temperature profiles.
PDR Thermo-Active software automatically applies the correct power required to follow the temperature profile, which in practice achieves the most accurate and repeatable profiles.
PDR Placement Technology
PDR Rework Pick and Place is simple to use on any component, with no programming required, and no delay. Every operator can achieve the same standard of quality, it removes the skill required to achieve perfect placement every time.

Our Prism allows you to view the component and the pads simultaneously. We have independent prism lighting and different colours for different boards. We use a gig-e camera which gives the best definition and quality with optical and digital zoom. You can also frame grab video and image with the software.
