PDF Days Europe 2022 recap

Last week was a bit different for us - Erik Mancir , Michal Liska and Tanel T?hep?ld met in Berlin to participate in PDF Days Europe 2022, organized by the PDF Association . It was the first in-person event for our team in past years. Tanel flew in from Tallinn, and Erik and Michal took a 5-hour drive from Brno.?

PDF Days Europe 2022 is a worldwide PDF technology event of the year that brings together PDF's top experts for two days of presentations from across the industry and the world. This year the event had three stages - Experience, Implementation and Core technology. In many cases, we split up the team to participate in the concurrent session as there were so many exciting talks and workshops.

There was much discussion around ISO standards, hybrid documents, accessibility and the future of the portable document format. It was exciting to hear about Bernd Wild first-hand experience implementing e-invoices and hybrid documents for German and France and how requirements for digital signatures have changed in European Union.

It was also interesting to hear Micha?l Demey from iText and his experience with different strategies for testing PDF files. Our key takeaway was that our current PDF testing strategy is already a pretty sufficient and good mix of best practices.

To our surprise, we also met our customer Onlineprinters, and it was a pleasure meeting them. Overall it was an awesome three days in Berlin, and of course, we did a quick sightseeing tour. We hope to be back at the next event to meet the incredible PDF community.
