Introduction to the PDA103C Counter Induction Loop Kit
So, joined we've Brian Foster from C-Tech, we're just going to talk through the PDA103C counter induction loop kit.
You talk me through what's in the box, Brian?
Sure, there are various induction loop kits that we provide, this particular one is to satisfy the reception counter.
Because we know by definition that it's going onto a counter, we know that it's a relatively small loop that you need, so we can provide you with the induction loop amp that can be freestanding or mounted.
The pre-formed induction loop cable, with this end that will eventually go into the back of the loop amp, and there is an instruction pack in there that has the terminal blocks for the loop connectors.
Which obviously, closed up inside there, and then of course, the tie clip microphone which once it's installed just plugs into the loop amp.
Let's go through a brief, this is our top counter.
So basically, we will take the pre-formed loop cable and what we'll do is that we'll basically place it around this surface area here, connect the loop together, and then with this tailed-off end which can come through the loop and basically just plug into the loop amplifier.
Lovely, and then we've got this little tie clip microphone, if we can open that up?
Which is used by the user, of course, which can either be freestanding on the counter or there is a little bracket that will allow you to clip it to the table, or it could be to the person's lapel or whatever.
So, can I just feed that through the unit?
So everything basically can stay quite well hidden, the design of the loop amp means that it's quite narrow because the transformer that powers the loop amp is actually in the plug that also comes with the kit.
So that would feed straight through and obviously you can clip it to either the person or the desk itself.
The Difference Between PDA102C and the PDA103C
What's the difference between, because obviously there was the PDA102C, but now we've got the PDA103C, where's the notable difference?
The main noticeable difference is the physical size of the loop amp.
We used to have the transformer in the older style PDA102, but by taking the transformer out of that loop amp and actually putting it into the plug that you plug in means that we could reduce the size of the loop amplifier considerably.
Lovely! And that's demonstrated within obviously the plug.
That's your plug, yeah!
Lovely! That's the PDA103C.
