PCMG Staff Spotlight: Head of Energy Analysis
We’re delighted to announce that?Tanya Hyde, who has over 18 years’ experience in the energy industry, has been promoted to Head of Energy Analysis.
Having been with PCMG for almost four years, Tanya has been instrumental in helping our clients obtain six-figure refunds from their energy bills.
First starting out as a Senior Analyst, she has demonstrated a credible history of working in the utilities industry expanding almost two decades. Carry on reading to hear more about her new role.
What does your job entail?
As Head of Energy Analysis, I manage a team of Analysts specialising in technical forensic energy auditing, identifying errors and potential saving opportunities within the non-commodity charges including transmission, distribution, and balancing charges.?Responsibilities also include project management; from customer onboarding through to satisfactory conclusion of a clean bill of health.

What inspired you to pursue the career you have today?
I love the fast-paced environment and the ever-evolving energy industry; hence working within it for over 18 years now.

What are the most exciting things you have worked on at PCMG?
University of Manchester was a great project to work on – I achieved significant recoveries back for the organisation in a variety of areas which made the project really interesting and exciting to process.

What are some of the challenges you have faced in the industry?
Within the last 12 months I went back to my roots and worked on the Procurement side of the business temporarily, tendering gas and electricity renewals, analysing and comparing offers and locking in agreed contracts. Whilst this is a thrilling part of the industry it comes with many challenges, in particular the stringent credit checks and the volatility of the markets, not to mention the price increases that customers are facing.?

If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
To stop time! There just isn’t enough time in the day.??
