PCMG Staff Spotlight: Energy Data Co-Ordinator
Next up in our Staff Q&A series, we’re shining the spotlight on a member of the Energy team, Laura Tuck.
As our Energy Data Co-Ordinator, Laura gathers as much data as possible for our analysts to deliver the Forensic Cost Recovery Audits.
Many of our clients will have spoken to her at some point, as she is often the very first point of contact for an energy project.
Her effective communication and coordination of clients’ data is invaluable. Here we delve deeper into Laura’s role at PCMG Ltd …
What does your job entail?
As the Energy Data Co-Ordinator, once a contract comes in, it is passed to me. Generally, I need only a signed contract, LOA & Site list that contains all the meter information, to get started.
I find out who has supplied the customer for the past 6 years (5 in Scotland) and start collecting the data. I approach the DNO’s and Suppliers to get as much data for the analysts as possible.
Depending on the size of the customers portfolio and number of suppliers they have in the last 6 years, the length of this process can vary from a week to a couple of months.
?
How long have you worked for PCMG?
Since December 2019.
?
What inspired you to pursue the career you have today?
I didn’t see any future progression with my previous employer. I am happy in the role I have but I like the idea I could progress within this company if I wanted to.
?
What’s the best career lesson you’ve learned so far??
Patience & Tenacity.
This industry has had to face challenge after challenge since March 2020. We are not always the supplier’s priority but if I keep following up on my requests, I do get results eventually.

What do you like most about your job?
I like the variation. I am the first port of call for all Energy Projects, so every customer comes through me. I must manage multiple projects in tandem.
?
What are the most exciting things you have worked on at PCMG?
There are so many projects I have worked on, but I am currently helping testing some software that when complete, will have a significant impact on making the process easier for a lot of people.
Once it is fully developed it will be a game changer. I am glad to be involved with that project from such an early stage.
?
What are some of the challenges you have faced in the industry?
I hadn’t worked here for long before the pandemic, so I have only really known the industry since COVID-19 and having to deal with its challenges, and since the global energy crisis.
?
If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
Shape Shifting or Teleportation.

On behalf of everyone at PCMG, thank you Laura for all your hard-work!
Without your superb organisational skills and ability to maintain data integrity, our analysts wouldn’t have the information they need to help our clients recover revenue.
