PCBL associates with IMI-Kolkata to welcome participants of 'Certified Program in General Management' - Season 2

PCBL associated with IMI-Kolkata to welcome 17 participants of 'Certified Program in General Management' - Season 2 on 10th February 2020, at IMI Kolkata. The Program was inaugurated by Dr Arindam Banik, Director – IMI Kolkata; Kaushik Roy, MD – PCBL & MBM – RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group; VC Agrawal, President – Group HR, RP-Sanjiv Goenka; and Dr Sarojakshya Chatterjee, Dean (MDP & EDP) & Professor – Finance, IMI Kolkata, and was attended by PCBL Senior Leadership Team and IMI Kolkata faculty members.

With a vision of being a Global player that believes in achieving global standards of human resources in terms of high performance and growth, PCBL has collaborated with IMI Kolkata for a 15 months’ 'Certified Program in General Management'. The objective of the ‘Certified Program in General Management’ is to enhance the leadership skills, advance the business acumen of the participants thereby developing them as business leaders in a dynamic globalised company environment.

The participants from across PCBL were shortlisted based on the Company’s Annual Talent Review Process. Under the able guidance of the academicians from IMI Kolkata, IIMs, and competent professionals from the industry, the participants would be exposed to a curriculum that would involve classroom lectures, case study analysis, discussions and simulations, role plays, assignments through digital platforms, projects, quizzes and end-term examinations. This 400 hours’ course, comprising 15 subjects, will be spread over five quarters, and the 12 days in the first quarter of the Program will cover only four subjects.

Dr Arindam Banik, Director – IMI Kolkata, in his inaugural address, praised the previous batch of this tailor-made Program and welcomed the participants of Season 2. He mentioned about the changing business scenario, new business opportunities for the entrepreneurs, importance of e-commerce and social media platform in terms of establishing connections with customers, globally.

Kaushik Roy, MD – PCBL & MBM – RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group, appreciated the previous batch and welcomed the 17 participants; gave a brief overview of the transformation journey of PCBL, and spoke about the objective of the Program. He, whole-heartedly, encouraged the current batch to leverage it in the best possible manner in order to become successful business managers.

VC Agrawal, President – RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group Corporate HR, reiterated the purpose of the Program, and spoke about two kinds of organisations – one of them is PCBL that develops people from within. He also mentioned as to how the participants should undergo this learning process that would prove effective in the long run. Dr Sarojakshya Chatterjee, Dean (MDP & EDP) & Professor – Finance, IMI Kolkata, also restated the objective of the Program, explained the course curriculum, and lastly, introduced the Program participants.
